What is lifting equipment? Equipment used for lifting, lowering and holding loads. Lifting accessories are the connecting elements used between the load and the lifting equipment.
Examples: Steel wire ropes, synthetic slings, chains, turnbuckles, shackles, plates and beam clamps, eyebolts and chain slings, bridge and mobile cranes, hook loaders, etc.
Why inspect? Wear, corrosion and degradation occur during use. Inspections help detect defects early and prevent incidents; they are also required by legislation and standards.
